The ‘Rotech’ range includes motion sensors, encoders, vibration sensors, and associated speed relays. The heavy-duty sensors are installed on the end of the shaft or on the belt that needs monitoring. Then they transmit an electrical signal proportional to the shaft\/belt speed to a suitable control unit. The control unit options comprise a ‘Rotech’ speed relay, a programmable controller, a computer, a data logger device, or other proprietary control equipment. For this set the alarm level of the control unit to just below the average running speed of the shaft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the shaft\/belt slows below the set level, the control unit activates and can connect to alarm the operator or shut down preceding items of the plant. ‘Rotech’ motion sensors\/encoders find applications wherever materials are transported or processed by conveyors, elevators, screws, crushers, mixers, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Examples of applications for our products include factories, quarries, mines, power utilities, and dock installations. Also, handling food, grain, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, sand, stone, cement, ore, coal, ash, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A single conveyor may run for long periods without problems, but not forever. The day will arrive when it starts to slip or slow-down, unless action is taken to switch off the conveyor, crusher, or the plant that feeds it, then spillage can occur. In a large plant with many conveyors and drives, the potential for problems will be increased by every additional drive element.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
